Gate 29, the Gate of Perseverance, sits in the Sacral centre and covers 24°30′ Leo to 0°07′ Virgo of the zodiac. It corresponds to I Ching hexagram 29, The Abysmal.
Where Gate 29 sits
Gate 29 belongs to the Sacral centre, the centre of life force and work energy: the gut response that powers sustained effort. A gate is one of the 64 openings on the bodygraph; when a planet sat in its arc of the zodiac at your birth or in your Design period, the gate is active in your chart and colours how that centre shows up for you.
Its channels
With Gate 46 (The Determination of the Self) it forms the Channel of Discovery / Succeeding Where Others Fail, joining the Sacral and G / Identity centres. When both gates are active in a chart, that channel is defined and both centres run consistently.
The I Ching root
Each Human Design gate maps to one of the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching. Gate 29 corresponds to hexagram 29, The Abysmal, which is where its keynote, Perseverance, draws its theme.

How these positions are worked out
Gate positions follow the standard Human Design wheel: 64 gates of 5°37′30″ each, with Gate 41 starting at 2°00′ Aquarius, the same table the site's bodygraph calculator uses. The Sun's dates are drawn from its apparent position for the year shown, so they shift by up to a day between years.
