8. Third-Party Services

We use these third parties. Each receives only what it needs for its job:

Stripe processes payments. Card details go to Stripe; we never see or store them.
Our email provider delivers account, reading and newsletter emails you ask for.
Google Analytics (Google LLC) measures visits and which pages are read, using cookies such as _ga.
Google AdSense (Google LLC) shows ads on some articles and guides.

Advertising

Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies, and information such as your IP address, device and browser details and approximate location, to show ads, measure them, limit how often you see the same one and, where you allow it, choose ads based on your interests.

Ads load only after you choose "Accept all" in our cookie banner. If you choose "Essential only", no ads load. Members on a paid plan see no ads. Ads never appear on account, checkout, pricing, report, legal or Vera pages.

How Google uses this information is explained at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. You can turn off personalised ads at Google Ad Settings, or opt out of other companies' personalised ads at youronlinechoices.com.au and aboutads.info.

Our service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Vera, the AI astrology chat

Vera is an AI. She reads the chart cast from your birth details. No astrologer reviews her replies. When you use her, we handle the following.

Your birth details: your birth date and, if you give them, your birth time and place (with the place's coordinates and time zone). We use them to cast your chart.
Your conversation: the messages you send and Vera's replies, kept so you can come back and read them.
Your File: short notes Vera keeps about what you have told her (people, situations, dates), so a later sitting can pick up where you left off. You can see and remove every note.
People you add: if you ask about someone else, the name and birth details you enter for them.
Your email address, only if you give it to keep your reading, receive your transcript or get date alerts.

Our AI provider, and data sent overseas

To write each reply, your message, the recent conversation, the facts from your chart and the notes in Your File are sent to Anthropic PBC, our AI provider, which processes them in the United States. Your exact birth coordinates are not sent. Under Anthropic's commercial terms (effective 17 June 2025), Anthropic may not train its models on this content. We disclose this under Australian Privacy Principle 8 because the data leaves Australia.

Payments

Sittings are paid through Stripe. Card details go to Stripe; we never see or store them.

How long we keep it, and how to delete it

Your chart, conversations and Your File are kept until you delete them, because you come back to read them and paid sittings must stay readable. They are not part of the routine clean-up of site analytics.

To delete them, open Vera, go to Your File and choose "Delete everything". That removes your File and all your messages with Vera. To remove your chart and anything else we hold, email privacy@horoscopevibes.com and we will delete it. A conversation only ever appears in our public question archive if you ticked the box to share it, and then only rewritten so no one can be identified.

Ask the Community

When you post a question or an answer we collect the name you choose to show, your email address, what you wrote, and a scrambled code made from a random number your browser keeps (so a banned device cannot keep posting). We use your email only to send a one-time link that confirms it is yours and, if you ask, a link that deletes your posts. Your email is never shown on the site or shared.

Before a person reads your post, its text is checked by an automatic tool provided by Anthropic, PBC, which processes it in the United States. Anthropic receives the text of the post only, not your email or name, and under its commercial terms does not use it to train its models. A person then approves, lightly edits or turns down the post, and that decision is recorded with the reviewer's name.

Approved posts are public with your display name. To delete everything you have posted, and your email address, use "Delete my posts" on the community guidelines page. If you do not give an email address, you can read the community but cannot post.

The free tools: what stays on your device

Yes or No Tarot. The question you type stays in your browser. We record that a card was drawn, which card it was and whether you typed a question, but never the question itself. If you share the result or ask Vera about it, the words go where you send them.
Compatibility. We record the two signs you picked, in the order you picked them. If you choose how the reading is worded (for example for two women, two men or a non-binary partner), that choice is only counted as a daily total, with no IP address, account, session or device attached. Sexual orientation is sensitive information under the Privacy Act 1988, and we do not collect it with anything that identifies you.
Every tool. When a tool shows a result we record which tool it was and, at most, a sign, a birth year or the option you picked. Your name, your full birth date, your birth time, your birthplace and anything you type are not sent with it. A name you typed is removed from the record of what the tool showed you.
Details you save on this device. If you say yes to saving your birth details, they are kept in this browser so the next tool can fill them in. If you are signed in, they are also saved to your account so your other devices have them. "Forget my details" at the foot of every page removes them.
Who you both are. On the compatibility tools, the readings and Vera you can say whether you and the other person are a woman, a man or non-binary. That choice is saved in this browser as soon as you make it, only to word readings for you, and it never appears in a link you share. Our server receives a daily total of each choice with no IP address, account, session or device attached. Vera receives your choice with the message it is answering and does not store it. Sexual orientation is sensitive information under the Privacy Act 1988, and we never collect it with anything that identifies you unless you clearly agree first. To clear it, pick "Prefer not to say" again, or use "Forget my details" at the foot of every page.
Daily notification. If you turn it on, we keep the address your browser gives us for notifications, your sign and your time zone, so the reading arrives at 7:00 am your time. No name, email address or IP address is kept with it. Turning notifications off for this site in your browser stops it.
Invite links. A compatibility invite carries your sign and, only if you type it, your first name. Both travel inside the link you send. We do not store them and the name never appears on the link's preview picture.
Sky Check-in and reactions. A one-tap answer is stored with a scrambled code made from your connection and a random number this browser keeps, so one person counts once. Your IP address and that number are not stored.
Automated visits. Search engine crawlers and automated browsers are counted separately and are never stored as visitors.
