The difference, in one line

A Sun-sign horoscope says: "Aries may feel tension in relationships today." A reading cast for your chart says (example): "Transiting Mars is within a degree of your natal Venus in your 7th house today, so a disagreement with a partner is likely to come to the surface. It is closest this afternoon and separates by Friday."

How it works

1. Birth details. Your birth date, and your birth time if you know it. The time adds your rising sign and all twelve houses.
2. Chart calculation. Your chart is cast from the ephemeris: every planet's exact degree, sign and house at your birth.
3. Personal questions. Nine short questions about love, work, energy and what is on your mind, saved to your account and asked once.
4. Your free reading. Today's transits are measured against your chart and one reading is written for you. The first one is free.
5. Every day, with membership. Any plan casts a new reading each day against that day's sky, shows your transits a month ahead and keeps your past readings.

Most horoscopes are written once for a twelfth of the world. If yours has ever felt vague, that's why: your sun sign is one placement out of roughly forty in your birth chart, and a paragraph shared with everyone born the same month can't be about you. An extremely accurate horoscope needs three things a sun-sign column doesn't have.

Your precision horoscope starts from a chart cast for your exact birth date, and, if you know it, your birth time, which adds your rising sign and all twelve houses. Every position is drawn from real ephemeris data, the same tables astronomers use, not estimated from your sign.

2. Today's actual transits, against YOUR placements

A generic horoscope can say "Mercury is retrograde." A precision horoscope can say which of your houses it's moving through and which of your natal planets it's aspecting today, with the exact dates drawn from the ephemeris. The same sky lands differently on every chart, that difference is the whole reading.

3. Your own answers, saved to your account

The sky can't know you're mid job-hunt, three months out of a relationship, or circling one big decision.
