David Bowie was an English musician whose restless reinvention — from Ziggy Stardust to the Thin White Duke — made him one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century. Across five decades he pioneered glam rock, plastic soul, Berlin-era electronica, and art pop, selling an estimated 100 million records. He released his final album, Blackstar, two days before his death in 2016, turning his own farewell into a work of art. His Capricorn discipline lay beneath every persona: each reinvention was a meticulously planned ascent, executed with a master builder's patience.
