Leonids Meteor Shower 2026
Up to 15 meteors an hour at peak under dark skies, from debris left by Comet Tempel-Tuttle. Visible from both hemispheres. The Moon is only 50% lit on peak night, leaving the sky dark for the faint ones.
What it means
Meteor showers are the sky at its most democratic — no equipment, no chart, no appointment. Find a dark spot, let your eyes adjust for twenty minutes, and look up.
