Your birth chart, read out loud

The short answer

A birth chart reading is a personalized astrological map created from your exact birth time, date, and location. It reveals your sun sign (core identity), moon sign (emotional nature), rising sign (outward personality), and all planetary positions that shape your destiny, talents, challenges, and life purpose according to ancient astrology wisdom.

Vera is an AI. She reads the chart cast from your birth details. No astrologer reviews her replies. How this site works.

For anyone who has generated a chart, looked at the wheel, and had no idea what they were looking at.

A birth chart is a map of the sky from the place and moment you were born. Free tools will draw it for you in seconds - this site has one. What they mostly cannot do is tell you what it means when three of those placements point the same way, or what to make of the one that contradicts the other two.

That is interpretation, and it is a conversation rather than a printout. You bring the chart and the questions; she reads the chart and answers them.

What gets read

A first reading usually moves through the chart in roughly this order, though your questions decide the route.

  • The big three - Sun, Moon and rising. What drives you, what you need, and how you arrive in a room.
  • The aspects - the geometry between planets. A tight square is friction you will recognise the moment it is named; a trine is usually a strength you have never noticed because it never cost you anything.
  • The houses - which area of life each planet operates in. The same Venus behaves very differently in the seventh house than in the tenth.
  • Balance - elements and modalities. A missing element is often more revealing than a dominant one.
  • The chart's shape - where the planets cluster, and what an empty half of the wheel tends to mean.

Why a conversation beats a report

A written report answers the questions its author thought you would have. A reading answers yours. You can ask what an aspect means in practice, say "that doesn't sound like me", and get a straight response about what else in the chart might be overriding it - which is where the interesting part of astrology usually is.

If you want something to keep afterwards, the written reports are here for that. Most people do both, in that order.

Accuracy depends on your birth time

The rising sign moves roughly a degree every four minutes, and it sets all twelve house cusps. A time that is out by an hour can move your entire house structure. If you have your birth certificate, use the time on it. If you genuinely cannot find it, say so at the start - the reading will stay on the parts that hold without one rather than quietly guessing.

An example of how Vera answers

My chart has a stellium in the twelfth house. What does that actually mean?

Three or more planets in the twelfth is a lot of chart in the least visible place. The twelfth is what runs underneath - the private, the unconscious, the things that operate whether or not you are looking. In practice people with this tend to have a whole inner life that almost nobody sees, and are often described as hard to know by people who are certain they know them well. It is not a difficult placement so much as a quiet one, and it usually means insight arrives sideways: in sleep, in retrospect, in the shower, rather than on demand. What matters next is which planets they are and what they aspect, because a twelfth-house Mars and a twelfth-house Venus are two different lives.

Things worth asking

  • What are my big three, and where do they disagree?
  • What's the tightest aspect in my chart, and what does it do?
  • Which house has the most going on?
  • What element am I missing, and what does that cost me?
  • Is there anything in my chart people consistently misread about me?
  • What should I know that I haven't thought to ask?

Common questions

Do I need to draw the chart first?

No. Give your birth date, time and place and the chart is cast from real ephemeris data as part of the sitting. If you would like to see the wheel yourself first, the birth chart tool on this site is free.

How is this different from the free chart tool?

The tool draws the chart and lists the placements. This reads it - what the placements mean together, which ones dominate, and which of them answers the question you actually came with.

Is my birth data kept private?

Your details are used to cast your chart and are not sold or published. The public question archive on this site is built only from placement patterns, with every personal detail stripped, and only where the person agreed to it.

Is the astrologer a real person?

No. The astrologer here isn't a person, and nothing on this site says otherwise. She reads your real birth chart rather than sun-sign text, which is the part that changes the answers.
