The Conjunction in Astrology: What a 0 Degree Aspect Means
A conjunction is two planets at the same place in the zodiac, within about 8 degrees. Their meanings fuse: each colours the other so strongly that they act as one. It is the most powerful aspect, and whether it feels easy depends on which planets are involved.

| Sign relationship | Usually the same sign |
| Nature | Fusion: the strongest aspect, neither easy nor hard on its own |
How a conjunction works
Two planets in conjunction are usually in the same sign, though a conjunction can cross a sign boundary (29 degrees Leo and 2 degrees Virgo are 3 degrees apart). The closer the planets, the stronger the blend.
A conjunction is read by asking what each planet wants and how they get it together. Venus with Jupiter adds warmth to generosity; Mars with Saturn puts drive and restraint in the same place, which can feel like pressing the accelerator and the brake at once.
A conjunction in your birth chart
In a birth chart a conjunction marks a concentrated theme. A conjunction to the Sun, Moon or rising sign is often one of the first things an astrologer mentions, because it shapes the whole personality. Several planets together in one sign are called a stellium.
A conjunction in transit
A transiting planet conjunct a natal planet starts a new cycle for that planet's themes. Jupiter conjunct your Sun opens a growth year; Saturn conjunct your Sun starts a period of hard work and consolidation.
A conjunction between two charts
Conjunctions between two charts are among the strongest contacts. One person's Sun on the other's Moon, or Venus on Mars, is a classic sign of attraction and a feeling of recognition.
Three conjunctions, worked through
Sun conjunct Mercury: Very common, because Mercury is never far from the Sun. Thinking and identity run together.
Venus conjunct Mars: Affection and desire in one place: warm, flirtatious, sometimes impulsive in love.
Moon conjunct Saturn: Feelings held carefully. Often describes early self-reliance.
