What a birth chart reading actually covers
A birth chart is a map of the sky at the moment you were born, from the place you were born. It records where each planet sat along the ecliptic, which houses those planets fell into, and the geometric relationships — aspects — between them. Read together, those factors describe temperament, motivation and pattern rather than events.
A reading with Vera usually moves through some combination of the following:
- Your luminaries and rising sign. The Sun, Moon and Ascendant are the spine of the chart — roughly, what you are driven by, what you need in order to feel settled, and how you meet the world.
- Aspects between planets. A tight square between two planets describes friction you will recognise immediately when it is named. A trine describes something that comes so easily you may not have noticed it is a strength.
- House placements. Which area of life a planet operates in. Venus in the seventh house behaves very differently from Venus in the tenth.
- Element and modality balance. A chart heavy in fixed signs handles change differently from one heavy in mutable ones. An absent element is often more telling than a dominant one.
- Current transits. Where the planets are now relative to your birth chart, which aspects are tightening, and — for the slow-moving planets — the exact date an aspect perfects.
How this differs from a sun-sign horoscope
A daily horoscope is written from one data point: your birth date. It is produced once and read by everyone born within a roughly thirty-day window. That is not a criticism of the format — it is simply what it is.
A chart reading uses your birth date, your birth time and your birth place. The time determines your rising sign, your Midheaven and all twelve house cusps, all of which change every few minutes. The place determines your time zone, including whether daylight saving was in effect on the day — which in Australia varies by state and by year, and which is the single most common reason an amateur chart calculation comes out wrong.
The practical difference: a horoscope can tell you that Mercury is retrograde. A chart reading can tell you that Mercury is retrograde in your tenth house, that it rules your chart, and that this is the third time in two years it has gone back over the same degree.
What Vera can and cannot tell you

Why birth time matters — and what happens if you do not know it
Your birth time sets three things nothing else can: your rising sign, your Midheaven, and the house position of every planet. The Ascendant moves roughly one degree every four minutes, so a chart cast an hour out is materially a different chart.
If you do not know your birth time, say so. Roughly four in ten people do not, and guessing is worse than omitting it, because a guessed time produces a confident chart that happens to be wrong. When the time is unknown, the calculation simply leaves out the rising sign, the Midheaven and all house positions, and Vera is told they are unavailable. She will not mention them, hedge about them, or work around them.
Everything else still holds. Your planetary placements, the aspects between them, your element and modality balance and your current transits are all accurate without a birth time. In Australia, if you want to find it later, your full birth certificate from the state registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages usually records it.

Is the astrology actually calculated, or generated by AI?
The astrology is calculated.
